Baked Salmon Orange Glaze (Printable)

A succulent, oven-baked salmon fillet topped with a bright, citrusy orange glaze. Fresh, flavorful, and easy for an elegant dinner.

# Ingredient List:

→ Fish

01 - 4 salmon fillets (approximately 6 ounces each), skin-on or skinless

→ Orange Glaze

02 - 1/2 cup fresh orange juice (from about 2 oranges)
03 - 2 tablespoons honey
04 - 1 tablespoon soy sauce (use tamari for a gluten-free option)
05 - 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
06 - 1 teaspoon orange zest
07 - 1 clove garlic, minced
08 - 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
09 - 1/4 teaspoon salt

→ Garnish

10 - 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
11 - Orange slices (optional)

# Directions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
02 - In a small saucepan, combine the fresh orange juice, honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, orange zest, minced garlic, black pepper, and salt. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Allow it to cook for 6–8 minutes, or until the glaze slightly thickens. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
03 - Gently pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Arrange them on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring the skin side is down if applicable.
04 - Generously brush each salmon fillet with the prepared orange glaze. Reserve approximately one-third of the glaze for later use.
05 - Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and bake the salmon for 12–15 minutes. The salmon is cooked when the flesh becomes opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
06 - Remove the salmon from the oven. Brush the fillets with the reserved glaze. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and orange slices, if desired. Serve immediately while warm.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • You won't believe how easy it is to create something so elegant and flavorful.
  • It's become my go-to for weeknights when I want to impress myself without actually trying too hard.
02 -
  • Never overcook salmon; it goes from perfectly tender to dry and flaky in a flash, so keep an eye on it.
  • Using *freshly squeezed* orange juice and zest truly elevates the glaze from good to absolutely incredible.
03 -
  • For an extra golden crust, pop the salmon under the broiler for the last minute or two after glazing, but watch it closely to prevent burning.
  • If you're making this for meal prep, cook the salmon slightly underdone, as it will continue to cook when reheated, ensuring it stays moist.
