Probiotic Jello Snacks (Printable)

Gut-friendly fruit juice snacks with probiotics. Quick, easy, and perfect for all ages.

# Ingredient List:

→ Fruit Base

01 - 2 cups 100% fruit juice (apple, grape, or mixed berry; avoid juices with added sugar or artificial sweeteners)
02 - 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)

→ Thickening Agent

03 - 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder (use vegetarian gelatin for vegetarian version)

→ Probiotics

04 - 2 tablespoons plain probiotic yogurt or 2 capsules probiotic powder (open and use contents only)

# Directions:

01 - Pour 1½ cups of the fruit juice into a medium saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the juice and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
02 - Gently heat the mixture on low, stirring constantly, until the gelatin dissolves completely. Do not boil.
03 - Remove from heat. Stir in the remaining ½ cup cold juice and honey or maple syrup if using. Let the mixture cool to lukewarm temperature.
04 - Once cooled below 100°F, whisk in the probiotic yogurt or probiotic powder until fully incorporated.
05 - Pour the mixture into silicone molds or a glass baking dish. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until fully set.
06 - Unmold or slice into cubes. Keep refrigerated until serving.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • You're sneaking billions of beneficial bacteria into something that tastes like candy
  • The whole process takes maybe fifteen active minutes, then your fridge does all the heavy lifting
02 -
  • Killing your probiotics with heat is the tragic mistake everyone makes exactly once—seriously, let that mixture cool completely before adding anything live
  • Silicone molds pop out perfect shapes every time, but a glass dish works fine if you don't mind cutting them into little cubes yourself
03 -
  • Always taste your juice before starting—some brands are surprisingly acidic and might need that tablespoon of honey after all
  • Whisking the mixture right before pouring helps distribute any settled probiotics evenly throughout each piece
